What are Botulinum Toxin treatments?
Anti wrinkle injections use botulinum toxin type A, a prescription-only medicine that temporarily reduces the activity of specific muscles.
Repeated facial expressions such as frowning, raising the eyebrows and smiling cause the muscles beneath the skin to contract. Over time, repeated movement can contribute to the development and increasing visibility of dynamic wrinkles.
When carefully injected into selected muscles, botulinum toxin temporarily reduces their activity. This can soften existing expression lines and, in some patients, help prevent them from becoming more deeply etched into the skin.
The treatment can also be used strategically to alter muscle activity in other areas of the face and neck, depending on your individual anatomy and treatment goals.

Does anti wrinkle treatment hurt?
Most patients describe the injections as a small pinch or brief stinging sensation. The needles used are extremely fine and treatment is generally well tolerated. If you are particularly nervous about needles, this can be discussed during your consultation.
How long does anti wrinkle treatment take to work?
You may begin to notice changes within several days of treatment.The effect gradually develops as the treated muscles become less active, with final results usually assessed at around two weeks.For this reason, patients are invited back for a review at approximately two weeks after treatment where appropriate.
How long do anti wrinkle injections last?
Results typically last around 3–4 months, although this varies between individuals.Factors including muscle strength, metabolism, lifestyle, the area treated and how frequently you have previously received treatment can all influence how long the effects last. Regular treatment does not necessarily mean treating more frequently. Your treatment plan will be tailored to your individual response.
Can anti wrinkle injections prevent wrinkles?
Reducing excessive muscle movement may reduce the repeated folding of the skin that contributes to dynamic lines.
